General phishing tips
- Klik niet op links in onverwachte mails — ga zelf rechtstreeks naar de website door het adres in te typen.
- Banken, de Belastingdienst en de overheid vragen u nooit per e-mail om wachtwoorden, codes of betaalgegevens.
- Spelfouten, slechte vertalingen, afbeeldingen i.p.v. tekst, en vreemde aanhef ("Beste klant") zijn signalen.
- Tijdsdruk ("uw rekening wordt vandaag geblokkeerd!") is een klassieke phishing-truc.
- Twijfelt u? Bel het bedrijf via een telefoonnummer dat u zelf opzoekt — niet uit de mail.
- Don't click links in unexpected emails — go directly to the website by typing the address yourself.
- Banks, tax authorities and government services never ask for passwords, codes or payment details by email.
- Spelling errors, bad translations, images instead of text, and strange greetings ("Dear customer") are red flags.
- Time pressure ("your account will be blocked today!") is a classic phishing trick.
- In doubt? Call the company using a number you look up yourself — not one from the email.
